I read recently that the creative impulse begins with a wound. As you think about what drives you to create, does this ring true for you? Did the genesis of your creative efforts begin with a wound?

Discussion Moderator:Darlene Montonaro is a poet whose work has appeared in a wide variety of literary magazines including Calyx, Slipstream, Earth’s Daughters, Blueline, The Comstock Review, Abraxas, and the Buddhist Poetry Review. She is a founding member of the poetry group Take Nine (a group of women who write and perform together), and a Board Member for Lit Cleveland, an organization working to serve and promote area writers. In 2016 she received a Creative Workforce Fellowship. The “Transition and Transformation” workshop is part of her fellowship outreach, which focuses on the value of writing as a way to cope with change. The Creative Workforce Fellowship is a program of the Community Partnership for Arts and Culture, made possible by the generous support of Cuyahoga County residents through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.
