Funding OpportunitiesCommunity Partnership for Arts & Culture
This nonprofit service, research and advocacy organization for arts and culture in greater Cleveland administers the Creative Workforce Fellowship, a $15,000 award for artists. Funds help artists develop professionally, and encourage the artist’s engagement with the community. Check the CPAC website for upcoming deadlines, or sign up for their e-mail newsletter. This funding program is made possible by the generous support of Cuyahoga County residents through a grant from Cuyahoga Arts and Culture. Ohio Arts Council The Ohio Arts Council offers Individual Excellence Awards which provide $5,000 grants to assist in a writer’s growth and development. Application deadlines for fiction, nonfiction, playwriting/screenplays, and poetry are made available in odd-numbered years. The next deadline date is September 1, 2017. Grants are also offered to non-profits for operating and project support. Contests, Grants & Awards Writers can take advantage of a remarkable number of grants, writing contests, and awards available throughout the country, but scams abound! The most reliable and trusted resource for legitimate markets and contests is Poets & Writers Magazine.
